There's Still Time
Apply for Our March 2026 Certification Course
As we settle into a new year, many of us are reflecting on what’s next in our work and wondering how to deepen the ways we show up for grieving people. If you’ve been thinking about joining the Creative Grief Studio Certification, there’s still time to apply for our March 2026 cohort. And we’re excited to say, with this new year and our own reflections, we’re bringing some new structures to the Certification course.
Over the past 14 years, we’ve heard ideas from alumni, based on their personal experiences, about how to enhance the course process. We’ve tried to listen and truly take in the feedback they’ve graciously shared with us, and now starting in Spring 2026 session, we’re incorporating the ideas that we’ve heard repeatedly over the years:
There is no longer an application process to participate in our Certification Program. We heard repeatedly from alumni that the application process was intimidating and felt like a barrier to access. So we have changed now to simply opening Registration for the course twice a year. Registration is open until 20 people sign up or until the first day of the session, whichever comes first.
While we continue to get raves about our course content, we’ve repeatedly heard from alumni that they wanted more time with the materials. So we’ve expanded the course from 4-months to one whole year! That’s right, you get 12 full months with us, which means you get a full month instead of a week with each module of materials.
We’ve also heard from alumni that finishing their Certification process on their own after they completed the 4-month course proved difficult because they’d lose track of accountability and process. So we’ve reworked the course so that you can complete your Certification at the same time you complete your course year.
While we have always valued pairing our participants up into coach buddy teams who could meet up as much as they liked on their own time and schedule, we did sometimes hear from alumni that it was a process similar to herding cats! :) So we’ve built in both theory/teaching Zoom sessions as well as praxis/practice Zoom sessions where you and your peers have time to explore and have additional time with our team each month to deepen your practice.
And finally, we’ve heard over the years that the tuition process has not been flexible enough to make the course feel accessible. So we’ve created a partially subsidized option for as many of the 20 people each session who want Sponsored Access, so no limit on how many participants can get it and no additional application process involved for it. We’ve also spread whichever tuition level you pick out over a 12 month Pay Plan, with no penalty and no interest.
We hope these changes make the course feel even more accessible to more of you, and we’re excited to announce registration is now open for the Spring 2026 session!
Our one year, online certification offers creative, socially aware approaches to grief support for therapists, hospice workers, clergy, artists, teachers and other helping professionals. Together, we explore what it means to accompany others through grief with creativity, curiosity, and respect for their agency.

Reflective Questions:
How do you nourish your own learning and growth as a form of self-care?
In what ways might deepening your grief support skills also support your own sense of purpose and connection?
What kind of creative learning space do you most need this year?
We’d be honored to walk alongside you as you deepen your practice and rediscover what sustains you in this work. Come learn and grow with others who share your commitment to compassionate grief support.

Absolutely love these updates to your program Kara and team. Particularly the program spread to 12 months and the payment plan over the 12 months. I completed your Creative Grieving 101 course and loved it so much. I will sign up for your Certification program as now is more accessible to me. I will try for the September start. ❤️
